History
The Aviation Educational-scientific institute was founded in 1992 as part of the structure of The Georgian Technical University. In 2005, based on governmental decision, aviation institute separated from Georgian Technical University and received accreditation from ministry of education and sciences of Georgia. It became independent Georgian Aviation University.

1- Faculty of Air Transport Flight Exploitation

Faculty of air transport flight exploitation prepares aviation specialists of bachelor degree major in flight exploitation of aircraft (commercial pilot).

The Program combines the three factors of success that ensures the graduation of high-quality pilots ready to work in any aviation company. The three factors include

  1. Strong academic-base study (Theoretical part)
  2. Sufficient flight hours in practice (Practical part)
  3. Facilities that prepare the student for real life situations these include a special Airport for training as well as Modern fleet of airplanes that prepares our students to work.

The Faculty of Air Transport Flight Exploitation has:

  • A strong material-technical base.
  • Telavi Airport - which is well equipped for flight training, has modern classrooms, hostel for students etc.
  • Airplanes - Cessna 152, Piper seneca, A-22, An-28, Boeing 737-200
  • FNPT II MCC flight simulator - which is relevant to EASA standards
After graduation from theoretical part of education, students shall pass FNPT II MCC flight simulator training and after that they advance to flight training, total 150 flight hours on A-22, Cessna 152 for single engine rating and 50 hours on Piper Seneca III in addition for multi-engine rating. Flight training is commenced at Telavi Airport along with experienced flight instructors.

After graduation from bachelor degree, graduates will take higher education diploma and Commercial Pilot License (CPL) from Georgian Civil Aviation Agency.



2- Faculty of Engineering

Faculty of Engineering prepares specialists of:

  • Bachelor Degree
  • Master Degree
  • Doctor degree

Bachelor Degree Program includes:

  • Technical exploitation of aircraft (available in English language)
  • Design and manufacture of aircraft
  • Technical exploitation of aircraft avionics and electrical systems

Master's Degree Program includes:

  • Technical exploitation of aircraft
  • Design and manufacture of aircraft
  • Technical exploitation of aircraft avionics and electrical systems
